‘Life for a Life’ Memorial Forests is a legally registered Charity - Charity Registration Number 1096422 and therefore all payments are referred to in this document as being 'Donations to the Charity'.
This website is owned and operated by ‘Life for a Life’ Memorial Forests Please make sure that you read through these terms and conditions carefully before using this website as your use of the website will signify your agreement to be bound by them. The terms and conditions apply to all donations by you from 'Life for a Life' Memorial Forests, before making your donation for any item. These will be updated from time to time so please make sure you read them before making your donation for any item listed.
1. Access to ‘Life for a Life’ Memorial Forests WebsiteReturn to top
We will do our utmost to ensure that availability of the website will be uninterrupted and that transmissions will be error-free. However, due to the nature of the Internet, this cannot be guaranteed. Also, your access to the website may also be occasionally suspended or restricted to allow for repairs, maintenance, or the introduction of new facilities or services. We will attempt to limit the frequency and duration of any such suspension or restriction.

When you make a donation to ‘Life for a Life’ Memorial Forests, we will send you an e-mail confirming receipt of your donation and containing the details of your desired item. Your donation indicates an instruction given by you to 'Life for a Life' Memorial Forests to plant a memorial tree, memorial bench, and or other items, indicated by you taken from the list of items available and a published on the website. These instructions when accepted by ‘Life for a Life’ Memorial Forests will be recorded and an acknowledgement sent directly to you.
That acceptance will be complete at the time we send the confirmation email to you. We do not file details of your donation for you to subsequently access direct on this website, and you are therefore advised to print out these terms and conditions together with the donation acknowledgement for your own records.
3. Pricing/ DonationsReturn to top
All minimum donations made to the Charity should be in Pounds Sterling. The Charity is registered with the Charity Commission of England and Wales and the official Registration Number is 1096422. Please Note - The Charity is not registered for VAT therefore all payments received are donations to the Charity. All donations received will be redistributed back into the community by way of the established network of officially appointed beneficiaries (see Charities & Support page).

We take the donation from your card at the time we receive your instruction to do so, once we have checked your card details and stock availability. Items are subject to availability. In the event that we are unable to supply any of the goods as listed, we will inform you of this as soon as possible.
The donation made by you will be displayed on this website at the time we receive your instructions. However, whilst we make every effort to try and ensure that all items on our website are accurately described and illustrated, errors sometimes occur. If we discover any errors of any items described and illustrated on our website, you will be informed of this as soon as possible you will be given the option of reconfirming your desired item. If we are unable to contact you we will automatically substitute your item with an item that is readily available.
We accept donations by all the major credit/debit cards. Donations must be in Pounds Sterling. When you go to the checkout to donate you will be automatically transferred to our secure server, Worldpay, to enter your card details and complete your donation. You will then receive an automated email confirmation of your donation. 'Life for a Life Memorial Forests' does not hold, nor have access to, customers credit/debit card details.
5. GuaranteeReturn to top
All trees memorial trees planted in a ‘Life for a Life’ Memorial Forests are guaranteed for a minimum period of 20 years. In the unlikely event of a tree failing to root and mature a replacement would be planted. Regular inspections will be made by our groundskeeping team to ensure that everything is progressing well.
Benches and picnic benches are guaranteed against rot for a period of fifteen years. All benches are tanalised prior to installation to increase longevity.
The Charity accepts all payments as donations and not payments for goods or services. No refunds are applicable.
After a donation has been received and processed, cancellation or postponement of a planting or bench installation may only be made through consultation with the ‘Life for a Life’ Memorial Forests Head Office. Clients are referred to point 3 of the terms and conditions.

The items on offer by this Charity as illustrated via this website, comply with all aspects of health and safety laws legislated in the United Kingdom.

Life for a Life endeavours to ensure that the information contained within the Life for a Life documents and website is correct but does not accept any liability for error or omission howsoever caused and whether by the negligence or omissions of Life for a Life or otherwise. Information, editorial, advertising, products and services provided by Life for a Life are provided on the basis that Life for a Life disclaims all warranties whether express or implied. Neither Life for a Life nor the suppliers of information shall be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential loss of business profits or special damages.
Note of advice:
Please wear robust footwear when visiting memorial gardens/forests, the ground can be wet and slippery from time to time (as with all rural locations). If you or anyone who accompanies you have a disability, and you would like further advice and support in relation to Safety. Please do not hesitate getting in touch with Life for a Life, whereby every effort will be made to ensure your safety. Rural settings can be dangerous. Whilst every effort and precaution will be made to ensure your safety, accidents occasionally do happen. It is with this in mind that we would like all Life for a Life's patrons to familiarize themselves with the “countryside code” provided, or by following the link below.

'Life for a Life' Memorial Forests under any circumstances will not pass on any customer details to any third party. We are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998). All Pictures and photographs that appear in the literature published by 'Life for a Life Memorial Forests' bearing any similarity or resemblance to any person living or deceased is totally unintentional and co-incidental.

Sometimes the item specifications from the Charities suppliers may change, in which case we will do our best to offer you a substitute of the same or better quality at the same donation.

Donating to ‘Life for a Life’ Memorial Forests could not be safer or easier. Worldpay is our secure server for all transactions. The Worldpay system ensures the security and integrity of all sensitive data. They are certified by Thawte, a public certificate authority, ensuring that the customer can have confidence that nobody can impersonate Worldpay to obtain confidential information. The transfer of donation details from our site to Worldpay are encapsulated using encrypted and digitally-signed protocol.
This ensures that the information passed is secure and tamper-proof via SSL. Any communication between the customer and Worldpay is encrypted to the maximum strength supported by the shoppers browser using 128 Bit SSL. Shoppers are also protected from fraudulent use of their card in a “card not present” environment by their card issuers. Data storage on Worldpay systems is regularly audited by the banking authorities to ensure a secure transaction environment.

If you have not yet received your confirmation of your donations by e-mail notifying you that your donation has been received and processed then at this stage only can you cancel the sum donated by emailing info@lifeforalife.org.uk Please include your Donation Ref number and full details of the donation you have made.
14. Alteration of Service or Amendments to the ConditionsReturn to top
We reserve the right to make changes to our website, policies, and these Conditions of Use & Sale at any time. You will be subject to the policies and Conditions of Conditions of Use & Sale in force at the time that you use the website or that your desired items from us, unless any change to those policies or these conditions is required to be made by law or government authority (in which case it will apply to donations previously made by you). If any of these conditions is deemed invalid, void, or for any reason unenforceable, that condition will be deemed severable and will not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining condition.
15. Events Beyond Our Reasonable Control or Made by Such Events Which Can be Legally Construed as force - majeure factorsReturn to top
We will not be held responsible for any delay or failure to comply with our obligations under these conditions if the delay or failure arises from any cause which is beyond our reasonable control. This condition does not affect your statutory rights.

In accepting these terms and conditions as expressed in clauses 1 to 16 it is construed by the Charity that potential clients will abide by these terms and conditions and those outlined in all of the charities literature particularly those clauses relating to shrine making, planting of flowers/bulb and the general tidiness of all planting sites, thus abiding by the countryside code of practice.
The Charity will not be responsible for any items personal or otherwise that are removed from memorial trees.
