This Planting site was opened on 5 June 2012 in celebration of Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee Year.




This 22 Acres site overlooks the Town of Oldham and from the Newly Refurbished Viewing Platform. The famous Jodrell Bank Observatory can be seen in the distance as well as the whole of the Cheshire Plain. Also in the Distance the Outskirts of Liverpool Can Be Seen.




At the entrance to the site there is the Coat of Arms of the Metropolitan Borough Town of Oldham etched into the newly laid paving stones. The site is easily accessed from Longfellow Crescent. (Post Code OL1 4QW.)




The whole of the site has been completely refurbished with lawned areas, flower beds and seating.




To the left of the site a children’s amphitheatre suitable for outdoor activities has also been refurbished adding to the attraction of the site.
