Opened on 10th May 2008, this beautiful secluded and previously untouched 12-acre site is a befitting place to remember a lost loved one or to celebrate that special occasion. The site will accommodate about 300 trees and will generate funds in support of Bury Hospice and other charities in the area. The site is very easily accessed through the newly laid and surfaced Hazel Hall Lane, which runs off the B6214 main road which eventually leads to Higher Summerseat. Clients and visitors to the site should leave the nearby town of Bury by the main Bolton Road (A58) to pick up the B6214 to Ramsbottom through Brandlesholme.
The planting site has a small picnic area complete with picnic table and small but adequate private car parking facility. From the meadow the western slopes of the Pennine Chain add to the splendour and peaceful aspects of what will become a premier and popular community forest.

The land has been gracefully donated to ‘Life for a Life’ by Dunsters Farm Products Ltd owned by the Ratcliffe family who for many years have supported several local and national charities.
