This website is owned and operated by 'Life for a Life' Please make sure that you read through these terms and conditions carefully before using this website as your use of the website will signify your agreement to be bound by them. The terms and conditions apply to all purchases of products by you from 'Life for a Life'. These will be updated from time to time so please make sure you read them before making a new purchase.
1. Access to 'Life for a Life'
We will do our utmost to ensure that availability of the website will be uninterrupted and that transmissions will be error-free. However, due to the nature of the Internet, this cannot be guaranteed. Also, your access to the website may also be occasionally suspended or restricted to allow for repairs, maintenance, or the introduction of new facilities or services. We will attempt to limit the frequency and duration of any such suspension or restriction.
2. Ordering
When you place an order to purchase a product from 'Life for a Life', we will send you an e-mail confirming receipt of your order and containing the details of your order. Your order represents an offer to us to purchase a product, which is accepted by us when we send e-mail confirmation to you that we have despatched that product to you.
That acceptance will be complete at the time we send the confirmation email to you. We do not file details of your order for you to subsequently access direct on this website, and you are therefore advised to print out these terms and conditions together with the order acknowledgement for your own records.
3. Pricing
All prices are quoted in Pounds Sterling and include VAT at the standard rate.
4. Payment
We take payment from your card at the time we receive your order, once we have checked your card details and stock availability. Goods are subject to availability. In the event that we are unable to supply the goods, we will inform you of this as soon as possible. A full refund will be given where you have already paid for the goods.
The price you pay is the price displayed on this website at the time we receive your order. However, whilst we make every effort to try and ensure that all prices on our website are accurate, errors sometimes occur. If we discover an error in the price of goods you have ordered we will inform you of this fact as soon as possible. You will be given the option of reconfirming your order at the correct price or cancelling it. If we are unable to contact you we will treat the order as cancelled. If you cancel and you have already paid for the goods, you will receive a full refund.
Title to any products you order on this website shall pass to you on delivery of the products provided that we have processed and received payment in full for the products.
We accept payments by all the major credit/debit cards. Payment must be in Pounds Sterling. When you go to the checkout to pay you will be automatically transferred to our secure server, Worldpay, to enter your card details and complete your payment. You will then receive an automated email confirmation of your purchase. 'Life for a Life' does not hold, nor have access to, customers credit/debit card details.
5. Guarantee, Refunds and Returned Goods
All trees planted in a 'Life for a Life ' Memorial Forest are guaranteed for a minimum period of 20 years. In the unlikely event of a tree failing to root and mature a replacement would be planted. Regular inspections will be made by our groundskeeping team to ensure that everything is progressing well.
Benches and picnic benches are guaranteed against rot for a period of fifteen years. All benches are tanalised prior to installation to increase longevity.
After an order has been processed, cancellation or postponement of a planting or bench installation may only be made through consultation with the 'Life for a Life' Head Office. If a refund is to be issued, this will be actioned within 30 days after authorisation by the charity's appointed treasurer.

6. Safety
The products which are sold via this website comply with the health and safety laws of the United Kingdom.
7. Data Protection and Privacy
'Life for a Life' will not pass on any customer details to any third party. We are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998). We will not email you in the future unless you have given us your consent or joined our mailing list. Please see our privacy policy for a full statement.
8. Legitimate Web Site Use
You must not use the website in any way that causes, or is likely to cause, the website or access to it to be interrupted, damaged or impaired in any way. You understand that you, and not 'Life for a Life', are responsible for all electronic communications and content sent from your computer to us and you must use the website for lawful purposes only.
You must not use the website for any of the following:
- for fraudulent purposes, or in connection with a criminal offence or other unlawful activity.
- to send, use or re-use any material that is illegal, offensive, abusive, indecent, defamatory, obscene or menacing; or in breach of copyright, trademark, confidence, privacy or any other right; or is otherwise injurious to third parties; or objectionable; or which consists of, or contains, software viruses, political campaigning, commercial solicitation, chain letters, mass mailings or any "spam".

9. Enquiries, Comments, Communications and Other Content
Users of this website may send enquiries, comments, communications and other information, as long as the content is not illegal, obscene, abusive, threatening, defamatory, commercial solicitation, chain letters, mass mailings, or any form of "spam."

All content included on the website, such as text, graphics, logos, button icons, images is the property of 'Life for a Life'.
You may not systematically extract and/or re-utilise parts of the contents of the website without 'Life for a Life' express written consent.
11. Products
The products selling on 'Life for a Life' are all genuine and are owned by 'Life for a Life'.
Sometimes the product specifications from the manufacturer may change, in which case we will do our best to offer you a substitute of the same or better quality at the same price.
12. Security
Ordering at 'Life for a Life' could not be safer or easier. Worldpay is our secure server for all transactions. The Worldpay system ensures the security and integrity of all sensitive data. They are certified by Thawte, a public certificate authority, ensuring that the customer can have confidence that nobody can impersonate Worldpay to obtain confidential information. The transfer of purchase details from our site to Worldpay are encapsulated using encrypted and digitally-signed protocol.
This ensures that the information passed is secure and tamper-proof via SSL. Any communication between the customer and Worldpay is encrypted to the maximum strength supported by the shoppers browser using 128 Bit SSL. Shoppers are also protected from fraudulent use of their card in a “card not present” environment by their card issuers. Data storage on Worldpay systems is regularly audited by the banking authorities to ensure a secure transaction environment.
13. Cancellations
If you have not yet recieved your order confirmation e-mail notifying you that your order has been processed then you may cancel your order by emailing info@lifeforalife.org.uk Please include your Order Ref number and full details of your order.
14. Alteration of Service or Amendments to the Conditions
We reserve the right to make changes to our website, policies, and these Conditions of Use & Sale at any time. You will be subject to the policies and Conditions of Conditions of Use & Sale in force at the time that you use the website or that you order goods from us, unless any change to those policies or these conditions is required to be made by law or government authority (in which case it will apply to orders previously placed by you). If any of these conditions is deemed invalid, void, or for any reason unenforceable, that condition will be deemed severable and will not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining condition.
15. Events Beyond Our Reasonable Control
We will not be held responsible for any delay or failure to comply with our obligations under these conditions if the delay or failure arises from any cause which is beyond our reasonable control. This condition does not affect your statutory rights.
