This incredibly attractive area was launched June 2003, by the Mayor and Mayoress of Burnley. This site has been specially selected for its high landscape beauty and general natural appeal.

Almost as soon as you arrive at the gate to the planting site, the uninterrupted view over Burnley Town to the Pendle Hills is splendid. All plantings at this site will be on the left hand side of the pathway which zig zags down to the lower gentle slopes to join the "Ramblers Way". From the pathway you can also access the 'Singing Ringing Tree Panopticon', which produces some wonderful chimes on a windy day. This is a popular destination for walkers and ramblers.

Burnley has an enviable reputation for its military history over many centuries therefore the Crown Point area will be of particular interest to all ex-services personnel, with a special "Warrior's Rest" area set aside.Present on the day of the official opening,The Queens Lancashire Regiment planted a Memorial Tree on behalf of all of the past and present members of the regiment and the uniformed branches of the emergency services.

Life for a Life planting areas are natural environments where we encourage wildlife and plantlife to flourish, as such additional items should not be added to the tree or the space around it, especially as they can cause damage to the tree. Please be aware that any prohibited items left on or around memorial trees will be removed.
