This Memorial Forest was opened on 30 April 2013 by the Chief Executive Officer of Wessex Water Company PLC in celebration of Her Majesty the Queen's Diamond Jubilee year.

Exceptional care and consideration has been given to the existing wildlife during the planning and construction of the site. Life for a Life and Wessex Water will continue to protect the biodiversity of the site, which includes insects such as butterflies, bees and other pollinating species. Special care has been taken in protecting wild flowers that grow in abundance in this area, which adds to the beauty of the site all year round. New wildlife encouraging shrubs have also been planted.

A Japanese style bridge has also been constructed over the existing small water course running through the middle of the site and has been designed with the purpose of connecting the two main planting areas, allowing easy access to the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Woodland. The pathway over the foot bridge is wheelchair friendly and will be of assistance to clients and visitors that may have impaired mobility.

Life for a Life planting areas are natural environments where we encourage wildlife and plantlife to flourish, as such additional items should not be added to the tree or the space around it, especially as they can cause damage to the tree. Please be aware that any prohibited items left on or around memorial trees will be removed.
