Opened in March 2007 by the Lord Lieutenant of Greater Manchester, this memorial forest is only 3 miles from Manchester City Centre.
The memorial tree planting frames the border of the Maccabi Community and Sports Club's playing fields of which visitors can make use of the large private car park. The buildings offer sports facilities for a variety of users and abilities and hosts a cafe area. Throughout the year and especially at weekends, many outdoor sports and other activities take place here.
In time, the memorial trees will form a beautiful natural barrier around the extensive grounds to create a natural habitat for wildlife close to the city centre and the vibrant Maccabi Centre itself.
Life for a Life planting areas are natural environments where we encourage wildlife and plantlife to flourish, as such additional items should not be added to the tree or the space around it, especially as they can cause damage to the tree. Please be aware that any prohibited items left on or around memorial trees will be removed.
