Opened in October 2003, this splendid site is teeming with grouse, pheasant and other exotic game birds which over the years have become quite tame and domesticated.

The planting site itself overlooks the arable farm area of Ormskirk and is situated in the grounds of Stock Hall Care Home. Donated woodland benches have already been installed in and around the planting area for the benefit of all visitors.

In the early spring, this location displays a wondrous array of colors created by the many mixed varieties of rhododendron trees which have matured over the years. The extensive fields of daffodils, snowdrops and bluebells are a glorious sight in early spring. The Memorial Forest and care home sit within a semi-natural woodland made up of Oaks, Beech and Pine Trees. This truly is a tranquil and peaceful place just to visit and enjoy the ambience.

A Memorial Book of Remembrance is housed within the chapel area of the St Josephs Thornton Hospice. All visitors will be made most welcome by the friendly staff of the hospice. This is a beautiful site to establish a Life for a Life Memorial Forest that which is almost in the centre of the bustling and developing town of Ormskirk.

Life for a Life planting areas are natural environments where we encourage wildlife and plantlife to flourish, as such additional items should not be added to the tree or the space around it, especially as they can cause damage to the tree. Please be aware that any prohibited items left on or around memorial trees will be removed.
