Trafford Council and Partington Parish Council released this small but peaceful area for the planting of memorial trees. The first tree planted at the site by the Mayor of Trafford was in commemoration of the five local men who lost their lives in April 1970 due to the “Bob’s Ferry Disaster”.
The site is accessed via Lock Line which runs parallel to the Manchester Ship Canal and offers easy access to the Redbrook Wildlife Trail. This planting site is our first in Trafford and sits not too far away from the charity’s sites at Lymm and Wythenshawe Park.
