Situated alongside the River Wyre this memorial forest has been made available for memorial tree planting by Lancashire County Council. The site has numerous meadows that surround the memorial tree planting areas. In partnership with Lancashire County Council and the Bowland AONB team, work is underway to re-establish and encourage the proliferation of wildflowers; creating a diverse habitat for wildlife and a kaleidoscope of colour throughout spring and summer months.
The tranquillity that the natural surroundings the site offers lend itself perfectly as a place to remember a lost loved one.
The memorial tree species on offer at this memorial forest includes English Oak, Common Alder, Silver Birch and Hawthorn; these varieties of trees have been chosen because they will help to improve the diversity of the tree species on the site and improve the site as a home for nature.
The Scorton memorial forest benefits from ample nearby parking and many local amenities that can be found in the nearby village of Scorton, a village which is one of the oldest and most historic villages in West Lancashire that makes a pleasing approach to the nearby Forest of Bowland.
