Situated alongside the River Wyre this memorial forest has graciously been made available for memorial tree planting by Lancashire County Council. The site has numerous meadows that surround the memorial tree planting areas. In partnership with Lancashire County Council and the Bowland AONB team, work is underway to re-establish and encourage the proliferation of wildflowers; creating a diverse habitat for wildlife and a kaleidoscope of colour throughout spring and summer months.

The tranquillity of the natural surroundings this site offers lends itself perfectly as a place to remember a lost loved one.

The memorial tree species on offer at this memorial forest include English Oak, Common Alder, Silver Birch and Hawthorn; these varieties of trees have been chosen because they will help to improve the diversity of the tree species on the site and improve the site as a home for nature.

The Scorton memorial forest benefits from ample nearby parking and many local amenities that can be found in the nearby village of Scorton, a village which is one of the oldest and most historic villages in West Lancashire making for a pleasing approach to the nearby Forest of Bowland.

Life for a Life planting areas are natural environments where we encourage wildlife and plantlife to flourish, as such additional items should not be added to the tree or the space around it, especially as they can cause damage to the tree. Please be aware that any prohibited items left on or around memorial trees will be removed.
