Opened in Spring 2009 and dedicated to Colonel, Sir John Timmins. K.C.V.O., O.B.E., T.D. and Lady Jean Timmins. In respect of their huge contribution made for the benefit of all citizens of Greater Manchester whilst serving as Lord Lieutenant of Greater Manchester between December 1987 to June 2007.

This location is phase one of a three phase planned expansion programme. The site is immediately adjacent to "Wythenshawe Community Farm" and the children's' playground area.

Wythenshawe Hall, which was the ancestral home of the Tatton family built circa 1540 will add to the interest of visiting the 'Life for a Life' planting site. Also very close to the memorial tree planting area there is the delightful Courtyard Tearooms. Within the Life for a Life planting area there are several well established interesting rare species of trees.

The whole aspect of this location and the amenities available makes for an excellent day out for all family members.

Life for a Life planting areas are natural environments where we encourage wildlife and plantlife to flourish, as such additional items should not be added to the tree or the space around it, especially as they can cause damage to the tree. Please be aware that any prohibited items left on or around memorial trees will be removed.
